How trophy difficulty ratings work
TrophyHunter shows optional community difficulty signals to help you compare trophies and plan hunts. This page explains what we collect, how we aggregate it, and how to interpret it responsibly.
Per-trophy: 1 to 5 stars
On supported trophy rows, signed-in hunters can submit a single rating per trophy on a 1–5 scale (1 = relatively easy for that trophy, 5 = relatively hard). If you change your mind, you can update your vote; we store one rating per account per trophy.
Average and count
For each trophy we show the average of all submitted ratings and how many ratings contributed. Averages are simple means: we are not applying hidden weights or editorial overrides in that calculation.
Game cards in the catalog
The difficulty meter on game tiles and list pages summarizes ratings from base-game trophies (we exclude DLC trophy lists from that aggregate so one game’s card stays comparable). It reflects community sentiment across those trophies—not an official platinum “time to complete” estimate and not a Sony or developer score.
What ratings are not
- Not a guarantee of how long you will need—skill, route, and patches vary.
- Not a substitute for guides or patch notes; always double-check missable or online trophies yourself.
- Not legal or medical advice; they are informal opinions from other players on our platform.
Fair use and quality
We rely on honest votes. Coordinated brigading, spam, or attempts to manipulate averages undermine everyone; we may remove abusive accounts or data if we detect misuse, in line with our privacy policy and normal site operations.
